February Fun

I am looking forward to February coming to a close because that means we are closer to spring and also that much closer to having another sweet baby in our arms! Here is what we've been up to lately...albeit not much since Grace and I have just recovered from being sick with a nasty respiratory bug the past two weeks. Thankfully we are both feeling better now!!

Grace loves to feed Nick the horse. He comes running when he sees her and she is very comfortable around him. In this pic she grabs his nose to give him a kiss!

Our sweet neighbors gave Grace a valentine cookie...yum, yum!

Watercolor classes from a real pro!

With a real tea cup, too!

Grace's favorite...icing!!

Cutest Puppy In The World

Nana & Pappy just adopted the cutest puppy and appropriately named him Yogi! He is the sweetest, softest, cuddliest puppy. He is a lab/golden retriever mix. They let us babysit him this past weekend and we took him to the park for 2 hours and wore him out! I was sad to let him go back home, but we will have so much fun visiting him at Nana & Pappy's house! Saki even enjoyed having a playmate (at times). There is a cute video of them running together at the end of this post.

Grace loved to play tug-of-war with Yogi!

Ben fell in love with Yogi, too!

Looks like we wore somebody out!

RIP St George

Our kitty St George passed away a couple of weeks ago. We are sad to lose a member of our family, but know that he is not sick anymore. We told Grace that George died and went to heaven (at least I can't imagine heaven without animals!) Here are some pictures of George over the years.

George loved to sleep in Grace's bed when we were away. He wouldn't go near her room when she was home, though.

Ben never liked to waken George from sleeping.

Of course Saki wanted some attention, too.

I think he found a comfy spot here.

This is last year's Xmas picture. Of course George was just taking a nap and didn't know that he was cooperating.

Couldn't leave anything open or George would find his way inside.

George always loved food. He's hoping for some of Ben's bday cake.

George was actually lactose intolerant. We tried to feed him milk in this pic and learned that it didn't stay down. Gross!
George didn't cooperate for this year's Xmas pic.

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas visiting family to celebrate the birth of our Savior! We began the festivities with a Christmas Eve service at our church and then came home to open our gifts before we headed to my parent's house on Christmas Day. The day after Christmas we travelled (while snowing) to my Granparent's house to visit more family. It was a great time and of course we all ate too much!

Enjoying my mom's famous Christmas breakfast of stuffed french toast with apricot syrup - Yum!

Grace LOVES to open gifts - even ones that aren't for her. Here she is smiling about her new tea set (plastic). The tea sets she got for her birthday are gone because they were porcelain and broke on our tile floors.

Washing the tea set with Nana.

We decorated a HUGE gingerbread man. Grace was nice enough to let me take a taste!

This was from my Mom's side Christmas party last weekend. We had a great time singing Christmas carols together.

This is the end of Christmas Day - whew we were exhausted!

Baby Jesus' happy birthday cake I made. It was red velvet with cream cheese icing.

November Recap

I can't believe November came and went and I didn't even get a single post! I hope you enjoy these photos from last month.
We take a walk almost everyday to feed Nick the horse. He is just a short walk across the canal and Grace looks forward to it every time! She even named her rocking horse Nick.

Grace and I joined Nana in the Walk For Life earlier this month to help bring awareness the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center and their support for LIFE! Here she is getting her face painted with a butterfly to match her coat.

Grace enjoyed watching her cousin Roman play soccer.

My little helper...she helps me cook just about every meal. She's a great stirrer & dumper!!

We enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving at Grandma & Grandpa Hough's.

Grace finally had a little girl to play with over Thanksgiving, although she is still learning how to share.

Pumpkins, Candy & Costumes Oh My!

Grace had a fun-filled weekend at the fall festival at Nana & Pappy's church this weekend. She dressed up as Wonder Woman (thanks Auntie Lindsay)! At the festival Grace enjoyed being able to pet baby goats, sheep, hold a baby chick, pet some bunnies and ride a pony. She also played some fun games, toured a fire truck and even went down the big slide with Uncle Andrew. The next day we went with Nana to pick out some pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch. Grace wanted every pumpkin there, but finally decided on one. She is a little bit too attached to her pumpkin I might add. She wants to take it everywhere we go! On Sunday afternoon, Grace dressed up as Wonder Woman and Ben took her trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. What a fun weekend!

Baby #2

We are so happy to announce that baby #2 should be here around the end of April 2011! Grace is really excited about having a baby and says she wants it to be a boy (she loves all her boy cousins). Of course, I just want a healthy happy baby. I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time last week. Hopefully I will start feeling better now that I'm going into the 2nd trimester. Whew...it's been rough to say the least!!! Here is a picture of our little peanut at 9 weeks.
