Happy 1st Birthday!

Grace and I celebrated our birthdays last Sunday - Grace turned one and I turned 30! It is so much fun to share a birthday with your daughter! We had some friends and family over to celebrate with us. Pink butterflies was the theme and I made Grace this cute ribbon sundress and a birthday cake to look like a pink butterfly. I thought the day was so much fun! We ended our Labor Day weekend with a trip to the water park with Andrew's family and Nana. BTW We are anxiously awaiting the birth of my brother Andrew's baby boy, Titus Reed. He is due next week!!

I love this picture of Grace and Grandma Hough!

Grace enjoyed feeding everyone else cake instead of eating it herself!

To Grandmother's House We Go

Grace enjoyed spending time with Grandma & Grandpa Hough this past weekend. She had a play-date and enjoyed chasing their dog Farley and pulling at his tail. Funny, because she doesn't pay our dog, Saki that much attention.

11 Month Update

Grace is 11 months old now. How time flies! She is so much fun and very chatty. She is building her vocabulary. Today she said "yellow" when she heard one of her toys say it. At the dinner table she says "please" and "juice". She also says "duck" and quacks; same for doggy/kitty. Other words she can say are ball, book and bow. When she is crying it's "momma" and when she is happy it's "daddy". Turns out that any male in a picture is daddy to her. She points with her chubby finger and says "Daddyyyyyy". Grace can now stand on her own and is very proud of it, too. Before long she'll be walking.

Here is a picture of Grace in a beautiful dress from GG Ma.

She likes to hold onto our fingers and walk around.

Grace opened the drawer under the crib and used it as a step
so that she could pull her blanket out of the crib. Too cute!

10 Month Update

Grace is over 10 months old now. She is developing quite a vocabulary. Her favorite word now is "Daddy!" It sounds a lot like "doggy" but we know the difference because she always follows up with barking sounds and she meows after she says "kitty". The nursery workers at church were talking to each other this morning while Grace was playing and they didn't realize that Grace was listening until the lady said something about her dog being sick...immediately Grace started barking. They all got a good laugh out of it. :) Here are some pictures of her beautiful smile, 6 teeth and all!

These pigtails lasted long enough for me to snap a photo and then she ripped them out. :(

Grace has to sneak up on the cat from behind,
otherwise George will run away.

We visited my Grandparents over the 4th of July weekend. As always, it was a wonderful relaxing time. Grace couldn't pick enough blueberries. They were delicious!

Uncle Matt's Wedding

Grace took her first plane ride this past weekend. We flew with my parents and brother Andrew to Clarkston, MI to celebrate the marriage of my younger brother Matthew & his wife Natalie. Grace traveled great and didn't cry at all. She actual likes flying better than riding in a carseat...probably because she is held the whole time. Natalie has the sweetest family and friends and they gave her a beautiful wedding. Grace wore the dress that Natalie bought for her. We all had such a great time and now Grace is catching up on all her missed sleep. She didn't nap well because she didn't want to miss a thing! What a social bug!! The next day we took a trip to the Detroit Zoo. The animals weren't very active because it was too hot. But it was great to see God's beautiful creation up close.
