Summer Fun!

This is a record for my blog. It is definitely the one with the most pictures. Our summer fun started early when Grace graduated from K-4 mid-May. We are enjoying our remaining time before she starts kindergarten. I hope you enjoy our (many) pics!

My family celebrating my bro. Andrew's birthday at the park

We visited my grandparents at their beautiful home. Grace loved this homemade swing.

And both girls loved to play on the hammock at GGma & Papa Jack's house.

We escorted Grandma Hough and her friend to Charleston. The girls loved the water fountain.

Of course a tour of Charleston is not complete without a carriage ride.

Or a picture on a cannon.

The girls love going to the beach.

They could sit and build sand castles all day. We have been three times this summer so far!
Our 4th of July was celebrated in style with a game of badminton. Then off to see fireworks!

Cousin Catherine turned 3 and had a fun birthday party with Anna from "Frozen".

Cousin Catherine and Auntie Sharon all dressed up for a family wedding.

Ben's birthday...He shares a b-day with Garfield, so he requested a Garfield cake.

A color coordinated day at church.

This is Ben and me after we won our first mixed-doubles match...6-4, 7-5 (we won in a 2nd set tie-breaker)...it was a close one!

Grandpa Brian was brave enough to take us girls on a fishing trip. It was a fun time and we even caught some fish!

Grace is getting ready to net the big one!

Ben with his pink princesses.
My parent's recently sold their home of 18 years and are staying in an apartment until they decide where they are going to live. We enjoyed a fun day grilling burgers and swimming in the pool with the cousins, my parents and grandparents.

Kiss the chef!

GGma & Papa Jack

Abigail and Nana (BTW Abigail just started swimming on her own...she just turned 3!)

Video of Grace netting her first catch. Listen for Abigail say at the end "can I sit in your "wap" (lap).

Abigail Turns 3!!!

It's so hard to believe that Abigail is now three years old. She is such a sweet girl and has a great sense of humor. She adores her big sister Grace (she told her she was "the best Grace ever" tonight at dinner). She enjoys riding her tricycle and playing with her Lego Duplos and baby dolls. She enjoys filling up a basket or bag with miscellaneous stuff to carry around. She wanted a kitty cat birthday party. She loves our cat Puddles! We had a fun party with family. Enjoy the pics!
Abigail and her birthday shirt. Thank you etsy.com!

Abigail modeling her new kitty cat dress that Grandma Hough made for her. It is adorable.

Kitty Cat cake (strawberry cake with chocolate frosting as requested by the b-day girl).

Family pic at the b-day party!

6 cousins together...they played hard and were ready for cake!

Titus is such a stinker and always blows out the candle before birthday girl...you can just read his mind in this picture ;)

Some cute snack food ideas for her kitty party.

April 2014

April has been a busy month for us. Busy and fun.

It is finally warm enough to swim in the pool!

Took the girls and Grandpa Hough to see some professional tennis at the Family Circle Cup. It was fun for the first two hours and then after that, the girls were done with tennis! So, we basically ate our way through the place to keep them happy while Grandpa watched some really good tennis.

Nice hat Grandpa!

That would be Serena Williams playing on the court. Trying to keep those girls quiet during the play was a challenge!

Spring Break trip to see the mermaids at the Aquarium. The girls loved it!

And fun dress-up at the Aquarium in mermaid costumes.

Dyeing Easter eggs. Grace LOVES eggs. Her favorite is egg salad sandwich and fried egg or hard boiled with salt, it doesn't matter. The. girl. loves. eggs.

The Page clan. 6 grandkids, wow!

It wouldn't be spring without a trip to the strawberry patch.

March 2014

A few March happenings:
Tea party with raspberry zinger tea

Grace's dentist appointment...no cavities!

Abigail's first dentist appointment...no cavities either!

Vegetable art...painting with celery tops and stalks

Field trip to the butterfly house

Grace's K4 class. They are such a sweet little family. She is going to miss them when she goes to K5.

Notice who is zipped up in the bag. I could say poor cat, but I won't.

Grace attended her first orchestra concert. She loves it! When I asked her what instrument she wanted to play she said "I want to conduct"!!

January/February 2014

We had several cold spells this winter. Especially Ice Storm Pax. We were without power for 14 hours and we were one of the lucky ones. Thankfully we have gas logs and gas water heater, otherwise we would have been in worse shape. The girls kept trying to think of things to do and I kept reminding them that all those things require electricity. It was definitely an experience.

An ice storm, that's all...no snow.

Pancake snowmen

The ice storm to-do-list: monopoly, tent, fire, hot cocoa, snow...well, 4 out of 5 isn't so bad.

I lead the children's choir at church. We love singing praises to the Lord!

Super Bowl Party with the Page-Hough family. A fun time had by all!

Someone likes to be the center of attention. Puddles sits in the middle of our homemade valentines.
